Everything that can be put into words can be put clearly - has claimed Austrian philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein. So there is no reason not to talk about science clearly.
Cafe means much more than a place where people can drink coffee. This is a place of social meetings, a place of social discussions. Silesian Science Café is a place where people discuss about science. We discuss about important, difficult problems accesibly and without any limits.
You can join our meetings on the first Thursday of every month at 6.00 PM in Rondo Sztuki in Katowice.
In our guests you will find a list of experts who has visited us and also of these who will be our guests.
Science Café For Children
Science Cafe for Children is a project directed at children from the Primary School who are pupils of Silesian social institutions. Science Cafe for Children can be carried out thanks to the Fundacja Inicjatyw Obywatelskich, Mały Gość Niedzielny magazine and educational portal - "Partnerstwo dla Przyszłości"."Scientific Café for Children" project is an offer of scientific displays and workshops connected with elements - with the Fire, Air, Water and the Earth. In the 3 next editions (from October 2009 up to December 2010 r.) children from Silesian social institutions will be able to participate in spectacular scientific displays and workshops. They will perform experiments on personally built devices. Meetings will always be held on Saturdays from 9.00 to 11.00 AM.
The Coal Valley
The Coal Valley is the next Science Silesian Cafe's project. It will be a place presenting the impact of coal on our life. There will be a lot of interactive, up-to-date exhibitions which will provide a fair dose of impression and knowledge.
The whole exhibition will be divided in six parts: Carbon, Coal Mine, Fuel, Structures, Products, Nanotech.
